Nigeria Police searched and Extorted 70k From My Rider


 Wonders they say shall not end.


Picked this guy between the ages of 23-26years from governor's road, Ikotun. His destination was Alapere.


On getting to ojota, google maps directed us to take straight and go through Chinese instead of Ogudu road. I called his attention to it and asked him if he had a preferred route. He reply by telling me to follow the map.


I complied by following the map. Getting to abiola Gardens, some policemen flagged me down, I tried not to stop but they managed to double cross us.


The rider was asked to come down for search, they took him into their Van and started searching his phone... I sensed fear on his face. Minutes later, him and 2 of the policemen walked up to me to give the yahoo rider my account number for him to transfer money to then I withdraw it for the policemen. I told them point black I don't have account.


The policemen then suggested they had who he could transfer to. They entered my car and asked me to drive them back to Ogudu road. (Me wey my head no correct before) told the police my car is not moving an inch that they should use their van that I could no longer because I have gotten another request. They begged me and obliged.

The two officers directed me to drive to the front of Ogudu police station and asked me to park outside. They called a lady who came out from the station and made the yahoo rider transfer 70k to her.

When I heard 70k, I told the rider that I'm no longer taking him to his destination and ended his trip asked him to transfer my 2800 to me in the presence of the policemen and asked him to request for another ride.


The policemen waited for me to get my Alert and for his next driver to arrive before they left.  Immediately, his driver came, i dropped him and continued with my hustle.


An hour later I got a call from a woman who claimed to be the mother of the yahoo boy threatening me and querring me for passing that particular road. I blasted her and asked her if it was my fault that exhibits was found on her son. She went mute and later hung up.


My reason for ending the trip and collected my money when the police was still around was for security purpose.


1. Rider might feel I set him up then ask me to be beaten up when we get to his hood

2.  He might refused paying me.
