Avoid Taking your To OLOWU, Ikeja for Repair

  Let me start by introducing Olowou.

Olowu is a popular Automobile Market and workshop in Ikeja, Lagos. In this particular Market, you see different kinds of street hustlers and Artisans both the ones that went for Apprenticeship and the one ones who are just freelancers.

On the 25th, August 2022, a Bolt trip took me from Lagos Mainland to the Island and just as I was about getting to destination, a trip request came in. Wow! This is the type of trips I like taking and luckily, this trip was taking me back to the mainland (I don't like working on the island because of the traffic in that axis).

As soon as I dropped my last Rider, put a call through to the new Rider to be sure she was truly heading to the mainland. She confirmed it.

In no time, I got to her street but there was a big problem. 200kilometres away from her hotel, there was heavy water on the road. DRAINAGES were covered with water. I wanted to turn back but I was greedy.

To cut the long story short, I swam through the water to pick up my rider and that was how I became a victim of OLOWU.

The next morning, I noticed my Air conditioner no longer chill. That water must have entered my compressor 8 thought. Fortunately, I had good a good spare A/c  compressor at Home. I put it in my trunk then called a friend of friend who is a Ac specialist in Olowu and explained my problem to him. Baba, said he could fix it but he hasn't gotten to olowou ( I was already in olowu when calling him ). 

To be honest, this guy told me he was coming but after waiting for close to an hour, I became inpatient. Called him again but he was still coming according to him. Immediately I dropped the call, I sighted one aof those olowu guys who had fixed my A/c in the past and I quickly called him to bail me out since thie other guy was no where to be found. Q 121

He opened my bonnet and inspected it, losed one or two things, then other first guy I called just showed up from no where . He was angry but i pleaded with and explained to him in details why I had to used someone else. I replied no problem and I expected him to give to new guy working on the car some space but to my amazement, he started working along side with him. 

I was not comfortable with the two of them working on my car so I called the new guy attention and asked me why was the guy called working on my car? He replied "we are friends. We work together sometimes ". 

Well, this is no longer my business as long as I have cleared my mind. 

Note :I HAD A BUDGET. 

My second mistake was giving them my spare A/C compressor without snapping or marking it . Immediately the compressor was handed to them, i expected them to only removed the bad one on the car then install the spare at that spot. 

These guy told me they were taking to their shop go fix one or two things on. Of course, I didn't support foul play but I was wrong. 

In order not to bore you with the story, they ended up swapping my Compressor for a bad one, brought it to me that my compressor was bad. I protested but they were claiming innocent that they were being wrongly accused. Their colleagues joined the arguement and I was almost beaten. 

 At this point, I was left with no other choice other than accepting my fate. They coupled back the old compressor back to my car and it worked fine. 

NOTE : i have paid  6k for the some repairs they did claimed they made on this compressor and also paid 1500 for two CANS of GAS. 

It was time to pay for workmanship, these guys had the guts telling me their money was 8k after stealing my compressor and defrauding me 6k. Well, I insisted I don't have more than 4k, they too insisted they won't take bellow 7k then I angrily left them with my car to a nearby street to clear off my head only for me to come to see that  my two front tyres had been stolen and my drive shaft removed and stolen with non of those guys in sight. 

I didn't report to the police because it would cost me more because Nigeria police are not different from them. Had to buy new tyres, shaft, installed them and moved on.
